WTW for a number of years had enjoyed a partnership with its catering supplier at locations in the UK and Ireland. As a matter of good business practice Willis reviewed their catering arrangements at their London, Ipswich, Dublin and New York sites. Catering Consultancy Bureau (CCB) was engaged to provide the required logistical support and to manage general arrangements on their behalf. As WTW was reasonably comfortable with their incumbent caterer, CCB advised them to approach the review via a competitive dialogue process for all the sites which involved extensive caterer credential meetings, workshops and site visits, a process during which financial submissions from each caterer were evaluated. This approach is unique to CCB and allows a closer relationship between caterer and client so that both parties can really explore the contract potential.
Following this extensive review process during which all caterers voiced their approval at being involved in such a detailed way, the incumbent caterer was retained. As part of the process several options were explored with the caterers which has now resulted in significant cost reductions, investment and a new standard of food and service. CCB has since been retained to provide ongoing support to WTW through the mobilisation period and ongoing performance reviews at WTW’s London and Ipswich offices. Additionally, CCB’s remit for auditing has been extended to WTW’s Reigate and Redhill offices.
